The Tri-Cities Airport just keeps smashing records.

The airport recorded a total of 949,110 passengers traveling through its gates in 2024, making it the busiest year for the airport ever. That’s 75,000 passengers, or 9% more than 2023’s total number of passengers.

December was the busiest month of 2024 with 49,343 enplanements, or people boarding an aircraft at the airport, which was also a new record.

“This is an incredible achievement for both the Tri-Cities Airport and our region,” said Buck Taft, the airport’s director, in a release. “Breaking our passenger record for the second year in a row highlights the growing popularity of the Columbia Basin and the trust our travelers place in PSC.”

Airport officials credited new and expanded routes with the airlines serving its gates as part of the reason for the growth in passengers. That includes American Airlines starting a daily flight to Phoenix early in the year before adding a second daily flight in September; Avelo Airlines increasing its flights to Burbank, California, from two to four per week and Alaska Airlines starting a nonstop route to Los Angeles.

Allegiant, Delta and United also have routes out of the Tri-Cities.
